Hi , how can I identify any journal entry that is posted during and after month-close? Is it possible to post a journal entry with a date earlier than current date ?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi,
The creation date of the financial document is the system date when the financial document has been posted.
The posting date determines in which fiscal year and period the financial document is posted.
As long as a fiscal year and period is still open for that company code, account type and account, it's possible to post with a posting date in that period. For example: it's possible to post depreciations on the second day of a month with posting date last day of the previous month if the posting period is open to post in previous month on second day of the month for account type A & S. The creation date will be 02/MM and posting date 31/MM-1.
There are several possibilities to report on creation date and posting date such as standard reports, queries,... For example: in the compact document journal posting date is available and also entry date via special selections.
Best regards,
Jonathan Eemans
