PaPM Universal Model: Parameter

Hi,

In PaPM Standard Model we have functionality to define parameter on process level, is there similar function available in UM? only place i see is to define parameter at activities level. 

In our model, we have independent activities where we need to specify data and month, and defining parameter for each activity does not seems efficient way to handle the task. Also not all the function which require parameter bound to Activity. Can you please help or Point to blog where it Parameters in UM are explained in details or have faced similar issue.

Hi,

As you mentioned, there are no parameters or selection fields by process. However, what you can do is transfer the first activity's parameter/selection to the following activities. You can do this in the General Information of the first activity. Therefore, you only need to set the parameter for the first activity, and the parameters will be transferred to the subsequent activities.

Hi Rohit,

Currently in Universal Model, as a process user, we only have parameter option in Activity level. In your case, you can use the Transfer Parameters option in Manage Process when you are configuring the Activity Link. Using this option, it will transfer a parameter value from the activity to the succeeding activity or process step.

Just an additional information regarding Parameters, Parameters can be also used in Complex Selection of a Join and in Formula of a Calculation.
