Dear Community,
I would like to copy a SAP PaPM model from production to quality and dev as part of a system refresh. I saw it can be done via XML or JSON, but I don't know how I can export the model or import it in a different environment.
I am using SAP PAPM version 3.0 SP 13.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Shady

Hi Shady,
in SAP PaPM OP, the mechanism to "copy" models between different systems (dev, quality, prod) is the standard SAP Transport Request.
You can find some more information at the following link: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_PROFITABILITY_PERFORMANCE_MANAGEMENT/a8068ea2f9ba403aa6d8bda3abcdbecd/...
Please also refer to this link and specifically to the "Transport" section in order to understand how to initialize a transport from the My Environments application: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_PROFITABILITY_PERFORMANCE_MANAGEMENT/56471df1959f4cfd9e3bf7a6d2d5be42/...
Please contact your SAP expert colleagues in order to understand how to perform it.
You can also export models to JSON by using the new Export Environment functionality, which is only available since SP17. This functionality was not meant to substitute SAP Transport Requests, instead it was designed to ease exporting models developed in SAP PaPM OP to SAP PaPM Cloud. Indeed, as far as I know, there is not "import enviroment" functionality in SAP PaPM OP which accepts zipped model packages in JSON format.
You can find more information about it in this blog post: https://blogs.sap.com/2022/03/17/sap-profitability-and-performance-management-3.0-support-package-17...
Hope it helps
Kind Regards
Emanuele
