Hi all,

I have an editable query to input some key figures. Is it possible to input data in this query directly from a P&PM report?

I have seen that we have a "Sheet" chart type but It seems that we cannot edit and save the values into P&PM from the sheet.

thanks for your help,

Romuald

Hi Paulo,

We don't expect the end users to access to the modeling environment. That's why I'm wondering how having a smoothly end user process to input data, launch calculations and review the results in charts and tables.

With P&PM On Premise:

- I can generate a report when I create an instance of a process.

- This report will present the list if activities on the left where I can execute activities.

- On the right, I have the list of input queries and queries where I can input data, display charts and display tables.

=> All tasks are done from one unique interface.

With P&PM Cloud, I'm trying to define the best way to manage this kind of process. My understanding so far is the below one:

- I can create a process instance and access to the associated reports

- From the process view, the user can launch activities, open input query to update his data, open queries within tables (tabular view or pivot view). So, regarding my initial question, he can input data from the process view.

- He can switch to the report and review the results within charts. He cannot really display results in tables.

- He can also add some comments in the text areas and update the whole report content.

=> So, in P&PM Cloud I can do the same as I do in P&PM On premise (more since the report are more flexible and have the charts have much more capabilities) but I need to switch between report view and process view.

best regards,

Romuald

Hi Romuald,

Does it mean that the only way to input data in an editable query is to switch to the process view and to open the activity to display the query and to edit the values? - This can also be done directly from the Modeling Environment so that the data will flow to Process and Report Screens 🙂

Do you know is there is another chart type or another object to display the content of a query in a table instead of a graph? - Not that I know of, honestly. But you can explore the chart types and see what fits your need 🙂

Best!

Hi Romuald,

Sorry I was talking about the PaPM On-Premise side and not for cloud. However, as I confirmed in PaPM Cloud, it is currently not possible to edit and save the values into PaPM from the "Sheet" chart type because it is only an instance of what is in the Modeling Environment. And changes made from the Modeling Environment screen will reflect in both Process and Report screens.

I hope this reply clarifies this situation.

Best!

Hi Paulo,

Thanks for your quick answer.

The query is editable (I can input some data when I open it from the Modeling view or from the associated acitivty in the Process view). The process template type is also simulation.

I'm using P&PM Cloud, it might be an issue with this version of P&PM. I'll check again.

Best regards,

Romuald

Hi Romuald,

This scenario should be possible, given that the proper configuration is considered.

1. The Query function should first work in Modeling Environment as Editable
2. In your Process Template try to use Process Type: Simulation

I just tried in now, and works fine on our end. However, it is a simple scenario of Model Table to an Editable Query with source Environment CDS. I am not sure on how your Environment is configured, but try this simple scenario in your system. I hope this comment helps!

Best!
