Overview of SSM Database Transporter

Hello,

I am looking for an overview of the different procedures / functions that SSM Database Transport provides. I currently see 6 different Import/Export options on the screen and it is not clear what functions these provide. I am old school SSM so am aware of PAS modelling and coding, as well as Metadata modelling in SQL tables (including E&A data in same but not in PAS). Can someone direct me to what these 6 different options do, as for example, there is only mention of "database" and "data" - is that PAS data, PAS database, SQL model (incl 150 tables) database, SQL metadata data? I am looking for a consistent approach to modelling in DEV - both MetaData and PAS, and migrating that upwards to QA and PRD. And then making model changes in DEV to pass the changes to QA and then PRD (both meta and PAS) without affecting PAS data or E&A data in SQL tables. If Database Transporter can assist here then I need to know what they do !! Is there an overview or document that provides this?

Kind Regards,

Endre

Hello Endre,

Check out the Interactive Publisher and Application Components Administrator’s Guide located at

http://help.sap.com/bosm.

The transporter imports and exports the application component data and model connection data from the NW database. You would still need to copy the PAS model over to the target system if changes have been made to the model.
