How many dimensions are recommended to use for implementation in BPC 10.0?

        Can you list the dimensions what  you are required for business needs if possible .

I need to have SAP note stating limitations on number of dimensions as far as performance is considered.
Can you please help me with SAP note for the same?

Hi Mehul,

I think sap note for performance limitations on numbers of dimension perspective is not available.but you can find remove of limitation of dimension from model by this sap note 1634465.

Hi Mehul,

There are no restrictions on the number of dimensions included in a model, but  BPC recommend that you limit the number to 15 to maintain good performance. The system automatically creates one dimension is called the Data Package dimension for every BPC model. By limiting the number of dimensions to 15, all dimensions will be set as line item dimensions, which improve performance.

But the business demands us to create 25 dimensions. So is it recommended to create that much?

25 is absolutely crazy number Just selecting some scope will take a lot of time!

10 ? There is no perfect number. you have to analyze business and reporting to correctly select...

I really didn't get you what is the need to create that many dimensions.......

Even though there are no restrictions of the number being a Professional Consultant you must understand the Business requirement & Build accordingly...

I hope that no business need that many Dimensions......!

Sorry, but please - search yourself I am not even talking about performance! If you try to create a report with 25 dimensions in the model it will be a nightmare! Hope you understand what I am talking about.

Best number is 13 to use.

if need more you can use it. but Its all depend on business needs.
