No direct postings can be made to G/L acct. 50000020 in CoCode 3000 When creating A PO

Hello Gurus,

There is a issue when creating a PO ''No direct postings can be made to G/L acct. 50000020 in CoCode 3000''. I am going to create a Material PO and in account assignment tab the G/L is get as Consumption -Spares A/c. 

A Screenshot is attached FYR. 

Any sustainable solution can provide to create the PO without this issue.

Dear Dominik,

Yes, The G/L is allowing only automatic postings only. How to solve this issue without untick the option. Is there any option to go forward bcz, this is material consumption G/L.

This error usually occurs because the G/L account 50000020 is set to block direct postings. You may need to check the account settings in FS00 or consult with your FI team to see if the account can be adjusted. Alternatively, you can use a different G/L account that allows postings for material POs or update the account assignment category in the PO.

This should be an automatic account, look for restriction in account definition (FS00), then check in your MM-FI Customizing for this account (table T030) that there should be a valuation class with this account for some transaction key such as GBB (OBYC).

• Have you tried to use a material with this valuation class?
• What is the exact expected use of the account 50000020 in your company (example : is this a Good Issue account, using it on a purchase order would not be legitimate, check with functional and legal constraints)?

The account is set for automatic postings only:

There is no way around this checkbox. If it is set, then you can't post manually to the G/L account. Puting the account in a purchase order account assignment counts as manual posting. 

Either you are using an incorrect account in the purchase order or the account is incorrectly set for automatic postings only.
