Next to Only Export Base-level Transaction Data from BPC 7.5 NW

Hey Experts,

I've finally got a Export process configured out of Data Manager that is just about right. However, when I run it, we're getting both base-level trasnaction data and records at the parent level for 2-3 dimensions which we need to specify as "<ALL>".

Is there any way to filter or restrict the output for just the base-level members?

Thanks in advance,

Garrett

Re-opened -- Applying the filter in Data Manager, which results in something that looks like this:

[[FILTER: NO_CALC]]

Doesn't seem to work on 7.5 NW. Is there something special you have to do?

You can try *SELECT on those 2-3 Dimensions with condition CALC= N and then use those variables in *XDIM_MEMBERSET.

Hi Gersh,

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. To clarify, the trouble I'm having is when Running a Data Manager package from BPC Excel, I can't select just the base level members from clicking the Member Selector and doing Refresh/Use Filter.

The system seems like it accepts this selection, but does not apply it when running the package.

Does that make sense?

Hi,

Please take a look at the advanced script of the export DM package. There is a prompt statement with SELECT. This will display the list of all the members (calculated and non-calculated). If you want only the base level members to be displayed, then use SELECTINPUT instead of SELECT. This option displays only the base level members.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nilanjan,

This is kind of a belated reply, but really appreciate your suggestion for this issue as to SELECT vs. SELECTINPUT.

I think that should resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Garrett

You can apply a filter by (correctly) using the Member Selector dialogue and then clicking "Return Members by - Filter"
