Need for Ownership Manager(why not use dimension hierarchy)

Hello,

It seems the only reason you need ownership manager is mostly for establishing hierarchy. however, I dont see why we cant just use the hierarchy functionality in the dimension itself? thanks.

Hello,

In BPC parent and descendant nodes are all part of the same dimension.  However, in ownership model you build the hierarchy (using ownership manager) from Group and Entity dimension members. This cannot be accomplished by using standard hierarchy in BPC.
