Hi,

We're in the beginning with an implementation project of SAP S/4Hana Cloud Public edition and are now in the prepare phase. Our customer consist of 10+ companies in several different countries. Our planned set-up for the ledgers are as follow:
0L - IFRS
2L - Local GAAP
4G - Group Valuation
From the beginning they will not use 4G but we know that we need to activate it from the beginning if there is any plan of start using it so we'll. They will also use the intercompany parts of the system and we've one questions related to this and namings. The plan for now is to name the company codes the same way as they have in there group-structure and reporting within the group. This would mean that they have the same naming for the company code and trading partner that will be assigned to business partners. Is there any dependencies/limitations if we choose to set-up the system like this related to other part of the system for example Intercompany?

One project member has previous experience related to set-up the same naming for company code and trading partner that lead to that they were be able to activate ICMR in the system.

We want to understand what the best practice is for naming of TP-naming and company code naming to avoid any future problems within other parts of the system.

Kind Regards, Sanne

Hello,
after consulting with experts, I'm able to offer an answer:

From an Accounting and Group Reporting perspective, there is no issue in using the same naming for company code and company/trading partner. It is actually very common to have the same naming for company code and company in ICMR.
Note: ICMR mainly runs on company or consolidation unit, though.

Kind regards,
Mareike
