Hi experts,
We are on BPC 10.1 (standard) and BW 7.5 reporting over BPC cube with a BEx query.
There is a reporting requirement to have multilingual texts on the property values of a dimension.
Our approach is to modify the BW infoobject related to the property of the dimension activating the flag for the texts loading the descriptions in BW infoobject.
We have tested to create members with values in the property, lite and full optimize, adding new properties to the dimension and planing data. Everything worked fine. The only problem we found is when modifying the property in BPC, we loose the modification in the infoobject for the text flag.
Does anybody done something similar to this? Any other implications?
Do you know another way to have texts on dimension properties?
Thanks and Regards,
Abraham.

Hi Abraham,
This modification is not going to be transported with BPC transports.

Yes, that's possible. Just mentioned it because customers often forget non-BPC transports. Same thing with UJBR.
Approach Vadim suggested is most commonly used. How to show those additional properties based on language selected depends on how you report on the cube: directly, using MultiProvider, VirtualProvider, build some custom cube on top of those.

"Our approach is to modify the BW infoobject related to the property of the dimension activating the flag for the texts loading the descriptions in BW infoobject." - Please, do not modify BPC opjects in BW! A lot of side effects! Not supported...

Hi Vadim,
I am talking about descriptions of the dimensions/properties values.
We have one dimension for the material and that dimension has the material type as a property.
There is a description for each material that we load from BW. But for each material type we don't have any description available as it is a property.
hi Abraham,
So you are actually modifying the infoobject which is created in the backend when we create a property in BPC frontend???
Could you please share the screenshots for more clarity?

JP
