Good afternoon,

I have been approached by my security team to find out the need for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable with our users who require Crystal Reports. When installing the product this seems to come along with it and it is a vulnerability for our systems we need to document or remediate. Can you provide documentation as to why Crystal Reports requires this product. We tried removing the product and had to do a repair to Crystal in order to use the reports properly.

We have the same issues. Our security team removed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 from the server and it caused the Crystal Service not starting up. We are seeing this on the event logs on the server. We had to reinstall VC++ 2005 in order to bring up the services. Please help.
