Hello Friends,

BPC 10.1 Standard.

1. When you use member formula's on account dimension do they stay like leaf members outside the hierarchy or they are put in another hierarchy outside the main TB.

2. Did you face any issues if we have member formulas in the reports with multiple measures in the columns

I am testing BW SP 7.4 to 7.5 SP upgrade and I have noticed that member formulas do not show data if more than one measure is used in the report example.

Periodic QTD YTD

Member formula 1 no data retrieved.

But if there is just one measure in the report, then data is retrieved.

Also in multiple measure scenario, if i click on individual cell and run " refresh selected data", then data is retrieved.

COS_7 is a node for cost of sales, it has 3 base level members.

yes system is on hana with, ENABLE_HANA_MDX is set to X at model level

Try SP20. There is no specific note for this issue, but looks like something was changed for dimension formula processing. For example:

Vadim, do you think the member formula's and Custom measure are very vulnerable to updates.

I had another issue in BW 7.4, where member formula and custom measures in the same report did not give correct results when refreshed.

Raised a sap note for it, SAP came back saying its a known HANA MDX issue, we have to upgrade HANA version to 34, which did not sit well with basis

Its tricky to explain tech drawbacks to users, they think less of the product.

After weeks working with SAP with the defect, SAP came back with this note for SP19 and it solved the issue.

2948072 - Remove irrelevant nested member formulas from HANA MDX statement generated by sub query -3 Version 2 from 28.07.2020 in English.

Vadim, i see that the SAP note shows SP20 as the component. but we are still on SP19. - SAPK-75019INSAPBW.

Basis could apply the note, on the sandbox system. I am not sure if the sap documentation is correct.

SAP reply - The ABAP note 2948072 we provided is used to fix an regression issue which only raised in SAP_BW 750 SP19.

ABAP note 2948072 is a part of SP20 for BW 750

But it can be also applied separately to SP19

I have the same issues with BW753SP03 with HANA MDX enabled:

Dimension member formula containing tuple with parent member of dimension with multiple hierarchies.

Is the multiple hierarchies that you referring to for an account dimension.

account and funcarea has 2 hierarchies in our system.

Is there a SAP note to fix this.
