master data planning in AfO does not work, but works in RSRT

Hi All,

I am trying to implement a master data planning in AfO with BW/4Hana 7.5.

So far I am not able to enter new master data records - but that´s a different topic.

when I run my query in RSRT, I am able to change my 2 char as key figures - this is the result, that also shows correctly in AfO:

When I try to change this record in AfO, I get the message

What can I do?

Thanks

Cornelia

Hi Cornelia,

for the AO issue you should open a ticket; it has to be possible to maintain master data also for compoud InfoObjects.

Planning functions usually work with key figures and are based on consistent master data, this is why planning functions are disabled for 'master data planning'; I think you mentioned the only reasonable use case, i.e. to check maintained master data and attributes; this would require FOX and this not even released for 'characteristics as key figures' also used to process master data attributes.

You can consider to model your 'check' as an exit derivation, i.e. the system would fill the attribute automatically (derived fields in the data part of an after-image InfoProvider cannot be changed manually). Pure check relations including key and non-key characteristics are not allowed.

Gregor

Hi Cornelia/Gregor,

Am also trying to achieve the same, but in SAC(SAP Analytics Cloud).

Can you please let me know whether it is possible to enter master data values in SAC?

Details:

BW/4HANA

BPC 11.1 Embedded Live connection.

SAC

Hi Gregor,

that note refers to AfO version 8 which ist not available yet.

But with version 7 I get at least more understandable error meesages.

My char is compounded and the system wants somehow to have values for all compounding objects.

I tried this - having the objects within my query, also typing the values into the box for the compounded object - the system does not accept it.

Well, then I decided for a concatenated object - there I am able to create new record - yeah 🙂

BUT - I want the users to fill an attribute and check that attribute value so that it is filled only once for a certain set of values (only one planning cycle within one combination of Version and Year shall be marked as active)

I wanted to create a nice little check formula - but the system tells me it can not create planning functions on my aggregationlevel on to of an info object 😞

What kind ob "master data planning" is it when I can not have functions?

Well, I will make a stupid Excel check but I would rather have a planning function, because the excel check does not prevent to save the wrong data.

best regards

Cornelia

Hi Gregor,

that note does not exist

I found note 2508938 and set all the RSADMIN entries

Now the change of the text (char as key figure) ist possible, but I can still not create a new member

This is what it looks like, first line was existing and I changed the text, second line I would like to add, but get only that red border

Thanks for your help
