Dear Experts,
We are in process of upgrading our BPC systems to version 10.1. We have already upgraded our BPC QAT environment to version 10.1 and have
migrated all environments to 10.1 version by running program "UJT_MIGRATE_100_TO_101".
Since we are in UAT phase now, users need latest data copied from Production environment to QAT environment for testing purpose. Unfortunately, we did not refresh QAT with Prod data before upgrade. As our Prod environment is still on BPC 10.0 version, can we get the Transaction and Master data from BPC 10.0 Prod to BPC 10.1 QAT? Can we do backup and restore using UJBR transaction in this case?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Neha

Hi Neha,
If you need to keep same Technical names in QA you'd need to delete that Environment, restore from Prod and then again run migration.
Alternatively you can export MD and TD from Prod into flat files and import them into QA.
If you are lucky and can establish RFC connection between Prod and QA then you can use just BW loads to load all that data.

Hi Gersh,
Thanks for you reply. We can load data using flat files but it is taking time as we want to copy a lot of data.
Can you please help me understand how can we establish RFC connection between 2 systems. I haven't done it before and don't know how to do it. Can you please point me to a document or blog if there is any?
Thanks again.

Neha
Hi Neha,
this should guide you step by step how to create a BW Source system Creating SAP Source Systems - Business Intelligence - SAP Library
Usually Basis people do this, but if you have enough authorizations and know pwd of BW background user you can do it yourself.

Gersh
