Mass Deletion of Dimension Ids from SAP BPC Administration

1.There are 80,000 Ids (WBS element) to be deleted along with the hierarchy node Ids

The Standard process to delete the dimension Ids as follows which am following at present

  • 1)Delete the Transaction records for the IDs if any
  • 2)Delete the Master data from the Admin, We cant delete the master data where the Transaction records have been deleted as the Zero Value transaction exists even after deleting the Transaction data for the Master data in scope. (after your light optimisation run)
  • 3)Where ever there are a) no lower nodes exists or the transaction data exists ( even Zero value exists) we can delete the Hierarchy Ids from the dimension
  • 4)While deleting the dimension Ids few Ids can be selected and deleted (i.e 10-20) and dimension can be saved and after say deletion of 30-40 the dimension can be saved and processed.
  • 5)This is a manual activity and taking lot of time to complete

Is there any novel way by which this mas deletion of the Dimension Ids can be achieved? with minimum time period, Is there any standard programme available for the mass deletion of Dimension Ids ?

First: After clearing data on base members - perform Lite Optimization with zero elimination!

Second: read my blog - https://blogs.sap.com/2019/08/26/how-to-mass-delete-obsolete-members-in-bpc-dimension/

Hi Vadim

Thank you for your solution , have gone through your blog, looks this should solve my issue. I am working on SAP BPC 10.0 NW hence have seen one of your replies on Zero elimination https://answers.sap.com/questions/407293/light-optimization-with-zero-elimination-issue.html. I will check them both

Thanks

P.S. If you have done Lite Optimization WITHOUT zero elimination then you have to remove stored zero's using BW report RSCDS_NULLELIM. After it always use Lite Optimize WITH zero elimination.
