Mapping GL to specific cost center

Hi sir,

Is it possible to restrict/map the SAP based on these GL and cost center combination? For example as per below:

1- GL 1234 have cost center A,B,C

2- GL 5678 have cost center D,E,F

Can SAP map the cost center A,B,C only for GL 1234. Meaning, If there are posting of cost center D,E, or F to GL 1234, SAP will not allow the posting. Can it be done?

Hi Muhammad,

Through validation we can ensure to maintain a check on the posting to GL account GL1234 and GL5678 mentioned in above example.

When maintaining validation in GGB0 we have 3 options to maintain either at Header level, Line Item level or Document Level.

For above scenario do maintain validation at Line Item level wherein the Pre-requisite is the GL account to which posting is being done which in this case would either be GL1234 or GL5678 and in Check maintain the cost centers to which posting would be allowed which for GL1234 would be A, B, C and for GL5678 would be D, E, F post which maintain the error message in case validation fails.

Then if posting happens to any other cost center for the GL account the validation check would ensure that an error message is displayed.
