Hi Team,
We have assigned logical systems as below in Dev GTS system. The assignment is bit confusing and do not find any relevant document on this. Hence describing in detail in the below mail and it may help others as well.
DEV ECC logical system <> ECC Group (ECC Logical System Grp.)
DEV GTS Logical system <>GTS Group (GTS Logical System Grp)
Do we need to define Quality and Production Logical systems also in Dev system like below? Since TR is getting generated in for the below assignments, these assignments cannot be done directly in Quality and Production systems. would request you to check and confirm.
Q1ECC Logical System<>ECC Group (ECC Logical System Grp.)
Q1GTS Logical system<>GTS Group (GTS Logical System Grp)
P1ECC Logical System<>ECC Group (ECC Logical System Grp.)
P1GTS Logical system<>GTS Group (GTS Logical System Grp)
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Gurrum,
What you describe above seems fine. You can define D, Q, and P via transport in Dev client (preferred), or you can open up each client and assign P to P only and Q to Q. I prefer the transport method because then there are no issues with copybacks. As Dave mentioned, you may sometimes get warnings that not all the systems can be reached and those are ok to ignore and make sure to only configure the matching communication paths in each client.

Hi Gurram,
There's no problem with the "else" set-up. Nothing will go wrong, provided that you don't configure the un-needed communication paths (SM59, BD64).

Hi Gurram,
You don't need to create or use different Logical System Groups for the Quality and Production systems - you can use the same ones as for Development. Of course you won't set up data transfer paths between the different landscapes, so nothing should go wrong. In the re-transfer of data from GTS to the feeder system, you will get some warnings that not all systems could be reached, but those can be ignored.
Hope that helps.

Dave

Hi Dave,
We are going to create two logical system groups.
ECCGROUP for ECC Systems
GTSGROUP for GTS Systems
in Dev System
DECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
DGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
In Quality
QECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
QGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
in Production
PECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
PGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
If we want to maintain above settings then we need to open client in Quality and production environments ?. Else the assignment would be like below in Dev, Quality, and Production environments.
DECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
DGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
QECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
QGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
PECCCLNT100<>ECCGROUP
PGTSCLNT100<>GTSGROUP
