Local Connection - 64 bit office

Hello Friends,

Env - BPC10.1 standard/BW7.4

I have a EPM validation report which runs on BW local connection on one tab and BPC on another.

We got new laptops with Windows 10 (64 bit) , and office 365 (64 bit).

I am not able to create a local connection with this machine. Few SAP notes suggest sap front end tools cannot be loaded on 64 bit office.

Is there a better way to run validation reports with BW data. Currently I have to export BW data to excel and run manual validations with BPC report.

Thanks for your time

Ed.

Thanks Vadim, I will install 32 bit office in my VDI session and check it out.

Do you recommend any other optimized way to run this comparison. The local connection in my old machine use to take considerable amount of time to fetch data.

"Suggestion was for 64 bit OS , we should have 64 office for performance. All our users are on 64 bit machine, though this local connection is used only by few bpc admins." - There is no big difference in performance between office 64 bit and 32 bit on Windows 64 bit. Test yourself!

Thanks Vadim for your reply.

Software were an automated push from IT. Suggestion was for 64 bit OS , we should have 64 office for performance. All our users are on 64 bit machine, though this local connection is used only by few bpc admins.

Validation report -

Runs an account wise comparison of Local currency in BW and BPC.

One tab has a local connection to the BW cube, Another tab has finance data from BPC.

Vlook account wise comparisons validate the data.
