Journal re-appeared even after deletion

Hi,

We have an issue with a journal where a it has been deleted, but the numbers inputted in the journal still remain. We tried manually removing them in BPC Excel, but they reappeared again after consolidation was re-run. Wanted to understand how these numbers populating even after the deletion of the journal. I have checked journal detail table and the numbers do exists. Does these need to deleted from backend? Please advise.

Thanks.

I agree with you, there is something wrong.

I pulled the report in BPC and it same as rsa1. Unfortunately I don't have any option to test the journal as it is deleted and the options (post/unpost) were disabled.

Thanks Vadim & Rahul for your responses.

@Vadim, yes the journal was unposted and deleted. However initial entry did not have trading partner and there is only debit value posted. After deletion of the journal, the value still showing in the cube and table.

@Rahul, Unpost is disabled for deleted entries. Do we need to delete data from backend. Please advise.

Hi Suman,

Have you cleared data before unposting the entry?

Rahul

Sorry, but you are doing something incorrectly or looking for values incorrectly

Don't use RSA1, use BPC report to check for values!

Test journal posting/unposting - you will see the result.

"Do we need to delete data from backend." - No!

Hi,

I have faced the same problem where consolidation run has impact of unposted entry.

What i found that that the user has cleared the data before unposting the entry.

Due to this, data which was cleared; get regenerated when entry is unposted (but with negative sign)

Rahul

Nothing strange! If you clear data including journal values, then unpost - you will get negative values. It's per definition of journals.

Hi Suman,

When you delete the journal entry, the data is not deleted from bpc cube. You will only find that the status of entry has changed from posted to deleted

If you want to delete the entry, then as suggested by Vadim,

1. First unpost the entry (which will actually remove data from BPC cube)

2. Once the entry is unposted, delete the entry.

Regards,

Rahul

It's not possible to delete posted journal using bpc web interface... Delete is enabled only for unposted journals.

What do you mean by "We have an issue with a journal where a it has been deleted" First you have to unpost...
