Issue to download/connect BPC report (workbook of 60 reports)

Hey Guys,

I am facing issue with BPC reports.

Ver 10.0 SP 16 Patch 1 .NET 3.5

Build 8669

There is a workbook of approx 10MB size and with 60 different reports/worksheets (along with some 15 formatting sheets).

Many a times I can not just open the worksheet. And its very erratic and random.

What I do to open the reports:

  1. Open excel
  2. Connect the addin to BPC
  3. Open the file (60 different reports consolidated in a single file) from server location
  4. It starts downloading
  5. And then it gets stuck

I can read the below at the bottom of the excel sheet (Calculating....):

The % reading varies, anywhere from 1% to 99%

Observations:

  1. When this issue occurs it occurs for any internet network I am using to connect to BPC, be it the office or personal internet or any other network. So its network independent.
  2. When the issue occurs it occurs for any client machine (any PC). So its machine independent.
  3. Its random in nature. Most of the time it doesnt work though.
  4. It is the same when I open this workbook from EPM add in for excel of BPC Admin page.
  5. Someitmes this happens when I open a locally saved file also (not downloading from BPS server)

Any leads on this would be helpful.

I will talk to the basis team for this.

Meanwhile, can there be any other workaround for this?

its a front end installation, no need for the BASIS guys.

Update your EPM to the latest version. SP 21 patch 1.
