Dear all,
can anyone tell me the answer to the below query?
Is there any possibility to change the Validity of an HS code in SAP GTS system?
Best Regards,
Varun Kumar

Hi Varun,
if you mean the HS code itself (master data), you change the validity with t-code /SAPSLL/LLNS_102 (Commodity Codes) or /SAPSLL/LLNS_101 (Tariff Codes). Both operations are possible only if you have created the HS codes manually and not if you have uploaded them from data provider.
If you mean the assignment of HS code to material, please use t-code /SAPSLL/PR_CLWB_CUS or /SAPSLL/PR_CUSTOMS02. If you assign a new HS code from today on, the old assignment will be valid until yesterday.
Hope this helps you solving the issue.
Best regards
Fabian

If you uploaded the codes from a data provider you cannot manually change anything about an HS Code. OSS Note 1230812 tells you what to do to eliminate the check that is preventing you from changing codes.

Thank you, fabian_geissler for the insights.
here, in this case, data is uploaded via XML uploads into the GTS system. Can we have any possibility to change the validity? or do we need to take assistance from the Data provider?

Hi Varun,
in this case the best way is to contact your data provider and ask, if there are updated files with new validity available.
If the validity change is a specific need for your company, you could edit the XML file before uploading it, e.g. with Notepad++.
Another way is to change the entries on database level directly, validity is stored in table /SAPSLL/CTSNUM fields DATBI and DATAB. Please be informed that this solution is absolutely not recommended, especially in productive systems (maybe it is even forbidden to change entries on database level).
Best regards
Fabian
