Integration PaPM Cloud- Excel: Can the data edited in Excel reflect automatically in SAP PaPM Cloud?

I am trying to integrate SAP PaPM Cloud with Excel. By using the HANA Client, I am able to bring in the data from PAPM Cloud to Excel but this is only a import connection and not a live connection. So is there any way to update the data in excel and automatically reflect the same in PaPM Cloud without using DPAgent for consuming this data again after editing to make it more dynamic?

Hello, thank you for your question.

Please follow this blogpost for a reference. DPAgent must be running and connected to your database, because that is a connection between your local machine and your runtime database of PaPM.

In the steps below, I will guide you how to perform this kind of a replication.

1. Install HDB Client so you can read data in Excel from desired SAP HANA Database.

2.Install DPAgent and configure it (activate it, connect it to the proper Database).

3.Create table in SAP HANA database.

4.Create an Excel file where you will read data from the HANA table in database.

5.Create Remote Source which will point to excel file created in the previous step.

6.Create virtual table on top of the excel file.

7.Create connection in SAP PaPM Cloud.

8.In modeling screen, use Model Table HANA and use connection created in the previous step.

9.Change something in Excel file and save it.

10.Reactivate your Model Table HANA from the step 8 and go to Show Screen.

Hope that this was helpful.

Best regards,
Leonora
