Increase Chrome RAM for iXBRL preview

Dear SAP experts,

With the change of RAM memory that chrome can use, some customers can no longer open the iXBRL preview.

This is because the preview uses more than 3 gigabytes of RAM and than chrome.exe crashes.

In the sap note reports to increase the memory that chrome can use

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3237131

We have tried to change the priority of the process to high, but chrome.exe crashes anyway.

We haven't find another way to increase the memory.

Could you help us do to this?

Thanks & regard

Hello federico_qi

The far better solution is, of course, to ensure your file does not get that large.

Don't forget, on sites such as https://filings.xbrl.org/ (where your filing will be made public) you do not control what browser and settings the people have who view the files.

Most of HTML files will get too large because of all the images that are embedded. Rarely will plain text lead to browsers running out of memory.

So, use the option to not embed the images

According to the ESMA ESEF manual, page 36

ESMA is of the opinion that images should either be included in the XHTML document

or be held inside the report package as separate files. ESMA encourages preparers to

ensure that their file size does not exceed support of browsers.

Regards,

Marc
