Hello GTS Experts,
Please kindly provide your suggestions on below 2 Quires.
1. If we want changes HTS code numbers from 12 to 24 (As recently china asked to increase), in this case can we directly change the existing ones or it is better to create new one. i hope there is separate process if we face this type of issues in GTS. please kindly put some light over here.
2. If new country is going to be on board in GTS , what could be the primary checks needs to done as a GTS consultant.
Thanks
Venugopal

Hi Venugopal,
When you create a new numbering scheme, assign that in the configuration that way only the new one is in effect. That also means removal of the old one from configuration so it is unusable.
If you're going to implement GTS for new country - This is too broad a question, it all depends on the legal regulations relevant for that country. If you meant from numbering scheme, I suggest create a new legal regulation and assign the same numbering scheme (if it makes sense from business and legal regulation standpoint).

Satish

Hello Satish,
Could you elaborate more on your 2nd question? - If you are going to implement GTS for new country, what are the things to be taken care as GTS consultants?
For the first question- If we create new one, that what is the impact of existing one, how we can close ?
Give me some brief explanation how to handle this situation.

Hi Venugopal,
1. Technically, the configuration lets you change the length but it is safe to create a new numbering scheme so as to not mess with the existing one. Make sure to test with the XML after your config changes (if you get data from a provider)
2. Could you elaborate more on your 2nd question?

Satish
