Hello,
Can you please help me. I need to upgrade SAP SAP Disclosure Management 10.0 (Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008) to SAP Disclosure Management 10.1 (Windows Server 2016, SQL Server 2016).
I have a new Windows Server 2016 that will host the new version of SAP SAP Disclosure Management 10.1 and I don't know which is the process to follow in order to perform the upgrade.
Thanks in advance.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Juan
Are you sure you are on 10.0 ? That version has been out of maintenance for several years now....
As DM 10.1 Stack1201 is the first version that supports SQL Server 2016 (see https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2631316 ) this upgrade is going to be quite long
My suggestion is this
1) upgrade on the existing server to the latest 10.0 release, which is 10.0 SP08
2) on the existing server, install DM 10.1 SP00 (base), and then upgrade SP01->SP02 etc. Note: you will need to install ALL SPs and also 601, 602 and 802. For Stack900 make sure you take the 900R from the download
3) On the existing server stop at Stack 1200
4) Make a backup of the DM database in 1200 level
5) On the new server, install Disclosure Management Stack1200 (this will be seen as a 'new' install). For the DB, select the new SQL2016 server and name the DB the same as your current on
6) This installation will create an empty DB on the SQL2016 server
7) Restore the backup from step4 over the newly created DB on SQL2016 serve
😎 Install Stack1201 on the new server, this will automatically migrate the DB to the 1201 level
Good luck !
Marc

Thank you Mark and Folu, now I am on SAP DM 10.1 Stack 1201.
Continuing with post installation, I uploaded the following plugins:
But, I am not sure if them are registered correctly. there is a table Plugin.Plugins in the database and there are records with date from 2014 in the field "RegisterDate"
Can you help me please.

Hi Joel,
For SP05 see SAP Note 2180480 - this requires SP04 patches (see the end of the note)
Once you are on SP06, you can install SP07 without the SP06 patches
So you go SP06, SP07, SP08, SP08 Patch 1, SP08 Patch 2, Stack 900R, Stack 1000, Stack 1200
Make you you check all the prerequisites and post installation requirements before you more to the next upgrade.
Regards
Folu

Hi Marc,
I don't find the installer for SP 602, only can find DMAPPLSERV06_0-70002897.EXE (SP06 Patch0) and DMAPPLSERV06P_1-70002897.EXE (SP06 Patch1), there are no more installers for SP6. Can you tell me where I can find them?
On the other hand, If I am on SP04 Patch0, it's necessary to install SP04 Patch1? Instead I can install directly SP05 Patch0 ?
Thank you for your time and your answers

Hello Marc, I appreciate your answers.
I will try with your first recommendations, working with the existing and the new server.
On the other hand, please can you tell me which installers are required to use from the list above?
Thank you.

Hello Joel
You only need to focus on the
All the other components can be installed once you are on the latest version. I.e. if you migrated to 1200, then you can simply uninstall the previous DM client and install the new one (same for the other components)
There is no need to install all the intermediary versions for these components
Marc
Hi Joel,
Well...this will certainly be challenging and I do not think this will work 😞 . The older 10.1 version can probably not be installed on a Windows 2016 server, as the installer will not support this OS.
You can try......
First, read this: https://help.sap.com/viewer/d19ece18367b41fa879eff1637ae9f1b/10.1_SP08/en-US/ef024825bc244d78af7baab...
Do not forget to make a DB backup !!
So, I suggest you start with this installation of 10.1 (base) and make sure it connects to the existing DB (note: at this point you cannot move the DB yet, as 10.1 Base will not connect to SQL Server 2016)
Once this is working, you can start upgrading
You will need to install
SP01, SP02, SP03, SP04, SP05, Stack600, Stack602, Stack700, Stack800, Stack802 (needed !), Stack900 (make sure to use the 900R install file from SMP), Stack1000
Once you are on Stack1000, you can directly upgrade to Stack1200
If you are on 1200, you can move the DB to the SQL2016 and then install Stack1201, pointing the installer to the new DB server
Note: you will need to install various 3rd party components
For example, the earlier DM version will need .NET 4.5 and the later ones will need 4.6
You will also need some SQL tools (after version 900)
Microsoft ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=36434
Microsoft Command Line Utilities 11 for SQL Server
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36433
Good luck with this!
Marc
