How to Perform Multiple Asset Retirements in S/4HANA Public Cloud

We are using SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The business team needs to retire multiple assets simultaneously. However, the Post Asset Retirement app does not offer a mass retirement option. What is the recommended way to retire multiple assets at once in this environment?

The Post Asset Retirement app only supports single-asset postings. A genuine mass retirement option is not provided in the standard.

For multiple assets, you have two supported approaches:

API-based: Utilise the Fixed Asset Post Asset Retirement API from the SAP Business Accelerator Hub. Each retirement is recorded asset by asset, but you can automate bulk processing by looping through multiple assets in middleware or custom integration.

No-code automation: Use SAP Build Process Automation to coordinate retirements without coding. BPA can activate the API or help automate the Post Asset Retirement app for multiple assets in a seamless way.

There is no direct “mass retirement” app, but you can achieve the requirement with API automation or BPA.
