Hello, all,

we want to implement support packages into a SAP BPC 10.1 SP 04 system.

A few months ago we tried the same thing but it failed.

Can anybody please give us suggestions regarding OSS notes that need the be considered when performing a support package stack upgrade?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Gerd

Hi is this really sufficient?

Last time when we tried to implement support packages into SAP BW and BPC to implementation of the support packages failed and there was actually a loss of data.

We do not want to go through this again. What can we do to prevent this?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Hi Gerd,

Always make a backup before new patches.

what patch did you try to install last time?

it is very rarely that a new patch will cause loss of data.

Hi, Andy last time we tried to go on Support Package Level 08 in SAP BPC and we experienced a loss of data.

Can you suggest us an upgrade guide for the  implementation of support packages in SAP BPC?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Gerd

Hello Gerd,

Please refer to SAP Note:

Hi, excuse me. I asked my question in a wrong way. Are the support packages implemented via transaction spam so that for the preparation it is sufficient to use transaction /n/ASU/UPGRADE so is there anything else to consider?

Best regards

Hi Gerd,

Yes, the best is to speak to your BASIS team, you need to download the SP files then use SPAM to install it.
