How to handle dimensions when migrating from Standard to Embedded

Hi Folks,

I need some help with handling BPC Standard dimension in BPC embedded.

We are migrating BPC standard to 10.1 embedded and since its Account based model changing to Key figure based model we are facing some challenges.

In Account dimension we have around 1000 stat accounts which are being calculated in logic scripts and also rolled up in hierarchy

Since we cannot have 100's of key figures ,what would be the best way to handle this?

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Sridhar

Hi Sridhar

Option 1

Keep using the Account-based model in BPC embedded with reimplementing Script to FOX.

Option 2

In consideration that reimplementation of 1000 stat accounts to be tedious:

  • Reuse BPC Standard Cube as part of BPC Embedded (account-based) MPRO or HCPR.
  • Old accounts to be calculated with the existing Script/DM packages of BPC standard.
  • New accounts to be created with provisional master data and calculated with FOX script.

You have to start with business processes! Not with recreating objects! Just a waste of time...

There is no automatic way to migrate from standard to embedded! You have to start a new project.

Thanks for the quick reply Vadim :).

I am recreating all the objects in Embedded and had question on replicating the existing standard dimension in Embedded for achieving the same results.

It would be really helpful if you can provide inputs.
