How to get the comment from Model Table in PaPM Cloud using Comment Feature

Hi Experts,

I have created a model table with comment field and referred the same field in an input enabled query on top of this model table which is tagged as 'Comment Key'. I am able to update the comments using query..however when I check the model table , this field stores GUIDs . Is there any way to have the actual comment value stored here or extract the comment from the GUIDs as I would want to carry forward this from my model table to subsequent joins until write back to another model table.

Kindly let us know here.

Thanks,

Soundarya C Adiga

Hi Soundarya,

Good day!

Regarding the query you raised, the field added in the Model table which is tagged as 'Comment Key' in the Query function, will only contain the GUID (after creating the first comment). The only way you can check the comments for it, is via Query Function > Show Screen (Comment Panel) and also in Menu > System > Comment Monitor Screen.

The in-data comments can travel with other data through the calculation model as long as the field defined for comments are consumed in the Join function and a Query function is built on top of it for comment viewing.

You can reuse the comments in the data by consuming the comment field and the GUID in it. However, the catch there, since the GUID was created on the original function (for example is Model Table_1), the GUID where the comments are stored will only be registered on that said original function, not on the new functions that consumed it.

You can also refer to the following what's new releases related to Modeling In-data commenting feature in Show screen:
