How to generate hierarchical catalog structure

Hello community,

with SAP S4 HANA standard integration with SAP CPQ (Quote 2.0) when a new product coming from S4 is sent to sap cpq, on sap cpq a new product category is created.

If I create manually a category on sap cpq and add as subcategory a category coming from S4 hana and send the product again sap cpq is creating a new category identical to the first one except for adding '_1_' at the end of the System ID:

Inside the new category I can find the S4 hana product.

What should I do to create a hierarchical structure of product catalog in sap cpq (product coming from S4 hana backend)?

Hi Davide,

Actually that mapping is done in CPI (between S/4 and CPQ). You need to have proper value mapping defined there for your categories to match as expected. Note that you can add a post-exit to actually create the mapping you want between whatever field in S/4 to your CPQ categories!

Cheers,

Patrick

Let me explain better: I've manually created parent category 'category1' in sap cpq and assigned 'S4category' to 'category1' as subcategory. 'S4category' exists on sap cpq because a product with category 'S4category' has been sent from S4 hana.

If now ( 'category1'-->'S4category') I send again the product from S4 hana with category 'S4category' in sap cpq existing 'S4category' is ignored and a new 'S4category' is being created on sap cpq.

In scpi mapping I've not specified 'category1', but just 'S4category'... should I map also top category on scpi mapping?

Go to category - Check once you have assigned Parent Category to those categories synced from S/4
