How to develop Consolidated Financial Statements in S4HANA On Premise without BPC?

Hi All,

As part of my current project, I am engaged in the requirements gathering workshops and in FI the client has a requirement to prepare few Consolidated Financial Statements.

Here is the current scenario

1. S/4HANA 1809 On Premise is in scope along with BW/4HANA. BPC is not in scope

2. The client has two business entities one in Middle East their head quarters and the other is in Europe.

3. Right now they are preparing their consolidated financial statements in Excel and are sharing it with external auditors. They need to publish these statements to shareholders.

4. Their primary requirement is to consolidate the financial figures between their two entities and report in USD in a single statement and publish this as a Webi report. Please advise if this can be achieved through the below mentioned standard CDS views.

If YES then I will buiild reports in Webi reading from these CDS views.

If NO then do I have to do this in BW/4HANA by extracting the data from any of these standard CDS views mentioned below?

Or do we need to bring BPC into picture to achieve this?

Further what I want to know is

1. On S/4HANA On Premise can we offer the following standard Consolidated Financial Statements like C_CNSLDTDTOTALS11Q - Consolidated Balance Sheet,

Consolidated Balance Sheet - Year Comparison

Consolidated Balance Sheet - By Subgroups

Consolidated Balance Sheet - By Movements

Consolidated P&L by Nature

Consolidated P&L by Nature - Year Comparison

Consolidated P&L by Nature - By Subgroups

In the description for each of these CDS views it says S/4HANA Financial Consolidation[Cloud].

So I want to know if this can be offered for S/4HANA 1809 On Premise as well?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Regards,

Pavan.

Pavan,

on a high level you can complete consolidation without BPC in S4 or R3. You'll need to create an elimination/dummy company and post journals to get to your consolidated total. This is not an elegant solution but work for smaller enterprises with simple consolidation needs. Since this elimination company is setup as any other company in your system, you can use any of the embedded analytics tools or Webi. FYI - the official SAP recommendation for consolidation is either Group reporting or as you mentioned BPC 11 on Bw/4HANA. Hope this helps

Hi Akos,

Thanks a lot for your reply. That really helps. Even I recently learnt that Group Reporting is the new official recommendation for consolidation but I was told that it requires a separate license and is not part of the normal S/4HANA OnPremise license.

Pavan.

Hi Vadim,

Right now BPC is not in scope but the reason I've tagged BPC is if the scenario that I have mentioned can not be achieved either in S/4HANA Embedded Analytics or in BW/4HANA then I believe BPC is the only way it can be achieved and then will have to advise the client to bring BPC in scope. Hence wanted to bring this to the attention of S/4HANA, BPC and BW/4HANA so that I get the correct answer.
