Hello All,
I got a requirement to change the HTS structure for Malaysia from 9 digits to 10 digits.
In my earlier post , i have asked the suggestions and got the answer to create the new numbering scheme for 10 digits and assign to the legal regulation.
I did the same way , its working as expected.
But there is some dependencies with BW and it is only accepting the old numbering scheme HTS details. In BW, logic has written like that.
They can modify the BW logic , but due to time constraints and other dependencies it is not going to workout for now.
Now business asked to change the new structure in the old numbering scheme it self.
I have changed to 10 digits , After upload the XML file and trying to classify the products , I could see two chapters.Kindly check the screen shot.
First one is for 9 digit
Second one is for 10 digits.
Business has to select the second one to go to assign the 10 digit structure
Is there any way to delete 9 digit structure complete.Kindly suggest.
Advanced thanks

Hi Diwakar,
With the modification you performed in the existing numbering scheme (9 digits to 10 digits), you altered the structure of the scheme. Anytime the data is loaded into a numbering scheme once, each number gets tagged with a GUID. With the alteration you performed and subsequent loading into the same numbering scheme, you create new GUIDs for the 10 digit numbers as the system considers it as a new entry and not an update. The system has got two types of data within the same scheme which is why you are able to see old and new chapter data.
There is no standard way of removal of old numbers when you alter it this way, it's an inconsistency which gets created and will have more issues for you as you start associating the products to the 10 digits. I hope you have looked back at the historical declarations to make sure it's not impacted. You may be at the risk of corrupting your declaration data with this inconsistency.
My 2 cents, if you haven't done this in production, please refrain from doing it and do it the right way of using a new scheme and have your BW team fetch the new scheme data.
Thanks,
Shrini
