How to change Dimension Product ID Properties in input template...

Hi Experts,

Product Dimension has a two Properties, such as Product Stage and Closing Date.

Created in Input template for user to Key in Quantity and Sales Price at each product level. Product is in Row Axis and also populated Product State and Closing Date for each product ID using epmmemberproperty function....

Users are interested to change Product Stage and Closing Date during Key in Quantity and Sales Price for required Product ID's.

Please see below example with two records.

when run input template below record is populating from the source..

after seeing above entry in input template, user wants to modify the stage and closing date for P_ABC Product. also change Quantity and Sales price.

Hope above example is clear to understand my scenario. Appreciate your inputs on how to change Product Stage and Closing Date...

Properties are master data and it's a bad idea to change it in the input schedule.

Instead of properties you can use some dedicated accounts to store numeric code of stage and numeric date.

In theory it's possible to use Master data on the fly:

with code corrections to change property, but I do not recommend it.

For example, you have account dissension with quantity and sales price. You can add Stage account and for some particular account and other dummy members put something like: 0 (cancelled) or 1 (received)... etc... Same for ClosingDate

It's not elegant but you will not change masted data/

Got you. but i still cannot change master data with this solutions right. i have to visit Master data change on the fly. I am not sure does this helps to change property members without change Change Product ID or create new Product ID..?

I will explore Master Data change on the fly and will let you know how far it helps me .

"i have to visit Master data change on the fly" - if number of users will try to change master data on the fly simultaneously then you will have issues with locking etc... An it's slow (dimension processing will happened after each master data change...)!
