How do you do Balance Sheet Reporting in a Periodic Financial planning model

Hi Team,

We are on BPC standard 11.1 over B4HANA 2.0. We are loading Actuals from S4 HANA via the Extractor 0FI_ACDOCA_10. This Extractor loads the balances into B4/BPC on a periodic basis as opposed to 0FI_ACDOCA_20 extractor which helps you get the YTD balances.

Now for any Balance Sheet item, we are getting Periodic Numbers in BPC Planning model. How do we generate the Life to Data Balances for Balance Sheet Items. Kindly suggest. We are thinking of an option to load the YTD Actuals from Consolidation model to Financial Planning Model but would like to have other approaches duly taken into consideration. Also suggest if we need to make any changes in terms of 0FI_ACDOCA_10 configuration. We don't find any field of Cumulative Balances in extractor 0FI_ACDOCA_10 as opposed to extractor 0FI_ACDOCA_20.

Hi Vadim,

We report the Balance Sheet items as the balances till date. However the postings in S4HANA table of ACDOCA is periodic postings. We have 2 models: Consolidation model and FINSTMT model. Data is loaded from S4 into Consolidation model via the standard extractor 0FI_ACDOCA_20. This extractor has a field called cumulative balances which allows you to load the Balances till date for Balance sheet items in the current period in BPC. So when user does reporting on Balance sheet Items, he has the net value of Assets, Liabilities, Equity till date. Lets say he pulls up a report of Oct 2020, so he has net value of Assets, Liabilities, Equity till Oct 2020 reported via EPM report.

Now in FINSTMT model, the extractor used is 0FI_ACDOCA_10. This extractor does not have any field of cumulative balance. All this extractor does is to load the balances period on period basis to BW/BPC as it was posted in S4HANA table of ACDCOA. Now Users wants to see the net Asset, Liability, Equity till Oct 2020 in EPM report when he runs the Balance Sheet Report for oct 2020.

There is one way, which is to include all the periods from beginning of postings till Oct 2020, which will give user the net of All Balance Sheet items, but that's not the effective way.

Other thing we thought is pull Balance Sheet Actuals Unconsolidated Data From Consolidation model to FINSTMT model, this would help user to get the Balances till Oct 2020 easy once he pulls up Actual Report for Oct 2020 in FINSTMT model. But we are still thinking if there is a better approach.

Can we not get YTD balances from 0FI_ACDOCA_10 extractor from S4 to BW/BPC for Balance Sheet items. Or is there another way to help user get the Reporting for viewing Net Balance Sheet Items.
