Hello Anjaneyulu,

Whatever Vadim told is correct. In addition to Vadim's points gving some info here.

In most cases we don't use Generic model type. Even though we are using customized currecy conversion we didn't use generic type, we just created Rates drive model only.

In normal if you don't have any currency conversion( for example you just want create a reports or input forms to send the data or to view data from cube people will go for Generic Model type)

for more info refer 440 material once there its explained clearly.

Thank you very much ...

"if you don't have any currency conversion( for example you just want create a reports or input forms to send the data or to view data from cube people will go for Generic Model type" - may be for Standard type ?

Hi Vadim,

i am started in SAP BPC and what I am Trying to understand here is ,

While creating Finance reporting model  we have Exchange  Rates driver model by default

In the same way for Consolidation got  both Exchange Rates and Ownership Models as drivers .

From this  i understood that the Driver & Rates Models are to serve reporting models to achieve BPC functionalities .

In the same way can't we use generic model as driver model for any type of the Reporting model ?

Is there is any effective purpose of it with in BPC ?

Thanks & Regards,

Anjan

Sorry, but I still do not understand your question...

Sample:

We want to have currency conversion and we wand to use standard Currency Translation Rule.

In this case we have to use Financial model type as a main model and linked Rate type model.

If we don't need to have currency conversion at all or we will perform currency conversion by some custom script or badi - then we can use Standard model type. We can have Generic model to store some additional info - for example, exchange rates for badi currency conversion...
