GTS Print Profile for Printer Determination

Hi Experts,

We have configured print profiles in GTS and assigned it to a Z-message type with device type. We are using this print profile in default data which will set a printer for a document based on attribute like FTO/LU and Ship to party, Original vendor etc. Business requirement is fulfilled for automatic printer determination in a document based on partners.

The gap is that business may create new printers directly in production system, but we cannot create the print profiles directly in Prod. system as its a customizing node. Also, we cannot do in Dev system as the printer/devices will not be available in Development systems.

Do we have this limitation for Print profile always have to route from Dev-QA-Prod., or there is another option for maintenance?

Hi Piyush,

In the IMG activity to maintain the Print Profiles, identify the View (using <F1>, <F9>). Then use Transaction SOBJ to maintain the View. Tick the "Current Settings" flag, and Transport the change to your Production system.

Now you can maintain the Print Profiles in Production as if they were Master Data.
