GRC Access Control - Role First Approver and Second Approver

Dear Friends, Please let me know in GRC access request if it's possible to set up first approver and second approver for a role.

Goals: -

• Role assignment approval notification has to first go to first approver only and NOT to second approver.
• If and only if first approver is on vacation it has to go to second approver.

Shivam has already mentioned escalation but it will depend on actual requirement and how "smarts" you want to build into this.

How do you intend to determine when "first approver is on holiday"? Do you intend to check HR leave status as part of initial routing? If you are using HR data, what happens if approver 1 has a request in GRC inbox and doesn't action it before going on leave

It would be helpful to understand the intended logic of the requirement and scenarios

If you want to perform an escalate to backup approver or alternative if request is not processed then escalation can be used. However, you can't escalate a second time if the alternative approver doesn't respond

Hi Raj

You can achieve this via escalation. You can set up time till request will wait for approval from 1st approver and if within mentioned time 1st approver doesn;t approve the request then it will move to second approver for approval.

You can set it at stage level in MSMP.
