I have read the documentation and have set up all of my connectors/configuration correctly with 4010 having the same role name as assigned to the ID in my connected system for my "Centralized" GRC system.
Run the synch jobs to update the connectors and have been able to assign Owner/Controller and User in the centralized system.
Because we use different naming standards in each system for our roles to help with identification in GRC i wanted to try the new option "Maintain Firefighter ID Role Name per Connector".
I updated SPRO configuration, and removed 4010 from my configuration, created the new role and assigned to the ID that was just working and ran the system synch and now I cannot get the FFID to show up in my NWBC to assign it to the user/controller/owner.
I did noticie that in the new SPRO menu for setting this up, even though I choose my downstream connector for where the new ID role exists, when I click on the search button it only finds roles in my local GRC system.
Question: Do I need to have that role name in my GRC system and the connected system for this option to work?
If not then I have seen a number of people with the same question over the years and either getting no answer, a reply that just links to the FAQ update that says maintain the SPRO setting, OR GRC isn't designed to have different role names for FFID's.
If the last is true what is the purpose of the new SPRO menu option for "Maintain Firefighter ID Role Name per Connector"??
If it is not true and you can use different role names then what step am I missing?
Request clarification before answering.
