Getting blank while changing fields through BDC.

Hi Experts,

I am getting data to change customer from inbound idoc. Fields which we don't want to change i am getting '/' for that. So for some z fields I have put a condition like if there is '/' value should not be assign to that field. and all this operation I am performing by BDC.

but when my execution is done I am getting that Z fields blank where I am getting that '/'.

Can you please suggest me the solution for it.

What are you exactly using for BDC? (standard program? custom program using CALL TRANSACTION? custom program using function modules BDC_OPEN_GROUP, etc.)? ...)

PS: the '/' in BDC only works in some standard programs, but not in custom programs (unless you custom implement this feature).
