Fund and Funds Center field in Account Assignment tab in ME21N

When I tried to create a standard PO using ME21N, Fund and Funds Center field in Account Assignment tab is greyed out by default. I need to create PO by entering these fields too.

Can anyone kindly guide me on how to make it editable field? Also why these fields are greyed out by default?

I am trying to create this PO to check for the below issue:

Automatic carryforward only allowed for amount 0

In many situations, those fields are derived using FMDERIVE transaction; have you first asked your Funds Management support person to derive those? We usually derive fund center from cost center in FMDERIVE

You might want to check with your MM Colleague to check the configuration for the account assignment category. I guess the configuration path for the same would be as below:

SPRO MM > Purchasing > Account assignment > maintain account assignment categories.

You would need to work with your MM Colleague to have Funds and Funds Center (mentioned by you in the original question) at least as optional for your account assignment category you are using in the PO line Item.

Hi,

This is customisation: check with your MM specialist. Assignment field status is defined by category in MM, and all the fields could be made ready for input. If you use FM, and even if you are going to derive those fields automatically, they have to be ready for input and changeable. This would be relevant in all year-end and reassignment activities afterwards.
