Dear All,
My Company is looking into implementing Functional areas (Cost of sales approach) in ECC6.
I would like to know how data can be imported from SAP or BW into SAP BPC 10.0.
BPC has been up an running for the last 8 years and therefore creating a new dimension in BPC is not an option.
Can any one please help me understand how Functional area concept is possible/can run in SAP BPC 10.0?
Your help on this will be very much appreciated

Hi Vadim,
Thanks very much for your prompt response.
It is to do with the cost and the time it will take to do it. Our limited knowledge is that it will be the equivalent of going through a new implementation of BPC and the reporting associated to it.
Hence asking if there is another option.
Are you inferring that adding the FA as a dimension will not be so painful (from the cost and timing point of view)?
Thanks
F

Sorry, but there is no magic! If you want to see functional area in BPC reports then you have to add a new dimension. The complexity of changes depends on your BPC setup - unable to comment without detailed analysis of your system.
“BPC has been up an running for the last 8 years and therefore creating a new dimension in BPC is not an option.” - very strange statement! It’s a correct option to my mind!
