Hi,
Addition to P&L by Expense we have a requirement to report P&L by Function (GOGS, R&D, Sales/Admin, etc.).
For this purpose in "Manage Global Hierarchies" we have Functional Area based Hierarchy (FAs can be linked to Ledger Accounts or Cost Centers).
To ease up reporting we have been implementing Group Financial Statements Review booklet that has 5 sub pages.
One of the sub pages is "Profit & Loss (Function of Expense)".
Idea was to use that FA hierarchy on that booklet subpage, but that seems not to be possible!
So question is that has someone managed to report FA P&L using Group Financial Statements Review booklet?
If yes can you pls. explain how where you able to do that?
thanks,
Tomi

Hi Tomi.
The Best Practise way (and best way in my opinion) is to use Reporting rules to prepare your P&L by Function.
This way you can combine FS items with Subitems and define the Functional P&L that way.
The resulting P&L can be presentes in both Group Data Analysis reports and Review Booklet by selecting the appropriate Reporting Hierarchy.

Thanks Hengye,
We have genuine FA hierarchy build and in use already, but it's not available/reachable from Group Financial Statements Review booklet (just let me know if I misunderstood you point).
At the moment we are building Reporting Rules to have FA Hierarchy available also on that booklet (Hierarchy for FS Item and Reporting Rules to direct/filter proper Functional Area Sub items to correct Nodes).
Any other clever ideas always welcome.
Functional Areas on accounting side of S/4HANA are available as Subitems (Subitem category 2) in Group Reporting.
You may have to create a hierarchy on Subitem in Manage Global Hierarchies and then use that in the Booklet.
