From bpc perspective, how to restrict number of running process chains

Hello Experts,

Currently, multiple users (240 users) are using the same data package (like, E_DATA_EXTR) which is created based on BW process chain "/CPMB/ICDATA" , they are running for different data scope (different Entity/Period); during the month end, they simultaneous trigger the data package, it consumes a lot of resource from CPU, and lead to a very poor performance in product system.

Please help to provide a solution about how to avoid the concurrency problem, is it any standard way to control the number of process chain("/CPMB/ICDATA") parallel running , like within 15 units?

Thanks in advance.

F.Y.I:

  1. the data package is triggered from third-party, we only have the logs from EPM, and background jobs from SM37.
  2. I have tried the note https://me.sap.com/notes/1792408, but it doesn't work for me.(I tested it as the screenshot below)

Best regards,

Jacob
