Free Form Payment Request – Release Dual Control

Dear all, 

On Public Cloud when processing free form payments in App Process Free Form Payment, we get the error message

A second user must check and release the payment request

Diagnosis

You cannot release a payment request that you have created.

Procedure

A second user must check the payment request and release it.

Message no. FIBL_RPCODE141

This is due to the payment request Dual Control settings.

According to the Note 3493984 - Error when releasing a Free Form Payment, the Resolution is:

Login in SAP Fiori Launchpad using a Accounts Payable Accountant and create the Free Form Payment, after that, switch the user/role and release the Free Form Payment with Cash Management Specialist role

Is there a configuration step where dual control can be excluded?

Yes. For SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, you can use SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA) with SAP’s pre-built Free Form Payment Approval.

It operates on SAP BTP, connects to your Cloud tenant, and works with the Process/My Free Form Payments (F2564) applications. The guide and package are edition-agnostic (BPT-side) Cloud. My Free Form Payments

A few key points to note:

• The SBPA workflow adds approval steps before/around release; it does not remove the built-in dual control in Public Cloud. The creator and releaser still must be different users, that is, message FIBL_RPCODE141.SAP Support Portal-3493984 - Error when releasing a Free Form Payment
• Subscribe to SAP Build Process Automation, import Free Form Payment Approval from Business Accelerator Hub, configure S/4HANA Cloud connections, set approver rules, and deploy. Hi Lucy, thank you for sharing this link. I am interested in implementing a workflow approval for free form payments in Public Cloud. Looking at this documentation it seems that the workflow developed so far is only applicable to S4HANNA Cloud, Private edition and S4Hanna On-Premise. Do you know if there is anything developed for public cloud?
