Fiscal Year Time Dimension

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to create a Time Dimension which follows Fiscal year i.e, Apr to Mar. can it be achieved through multiple H1 Hierarchies ?

can anyone help on this

No, don't use multiple hierarchies in TIME dimension, a lot of negative effects

Use single hierarchy.

Thanks for the reply. is there any document that i can refer to while creating the hierarchy for the said fiscal year?? the only difference is i have to create a property STARTMONTH = 1/Y in the time dimension. ?

I think my reply was not clear , what I am trying to say " You have to create a Time Dimension which follows only Fiscal year i.e, Apr to Mar , you can not manage it by multiple parents.

Thanks for the replying, i have created Time dimension with Apr as baseperiod 1. however the Q1 for 2015(for Ex) will be APR, MAY, JUNE 2014 and henceforth. which is attached. and am i missing any properties for balance carry forward? Please clarify

Hi Krishna,

If April is your first month, change the property of PERIOD from "APR" to "JAN" and do it for rest of months.

With this property changed, you will not have issue with PERIODIC calculation.

CAL_MONTHNUM
