Dear SAPGurus,

i had a case when i post asset AUC in F-90.

When i post or simulate, it show ERROR "Acquisition value negative in Area 01"

I Attach the data that i post in F-90

I read some post that the solution is to tick the "Negative Value Allowed" using AS02 in depreciation Area

what I want to ask is , why when in posting key 70 - we entered the value for asset AUC with a positive value but SAP said  "Acquisition value was negative in Area 01" ?

Could you tell me the root cause ?

For the information.  asset value for asset 911000112 is still plenty

While the error message is different the below note confirms the negative indicator setting in AUC. 0001555517 AA 617 for settlement of investment measures

Thank you for your reply. i ask directly to SAP, they explain that the negative value could exist during the internal calculation of system, but the final calculated result would still be the postive value.  So the solution is for existing asset, it can use AS02 to do changes and check the allowed negative value.   I try , then like they explain.. the result of my posting is positive (same as i input in F-90). Case Closed.

Do you have any other derived areas based on area 01? Even if 01 is positive you can get this error if one of the derived areas dependent of area 01 will become negative. It can be a derived area of 01 or also areas within same accounting principle as area 01.

Example

Area 03 = Area 02 - Area 01

In example above, if you are posting additional values in Area 01, Area 03 can become negative, leading to this message.
