Hi Guys,

I tried to import hierarchy from BW infoobject(0costcenter), when validating transformation file, error came up with all records are rejected as follows:

Can anyone please tell me why this happened? And Must I import corresponding Master& Text to BPC dimension from BW infoObject 0costcenter before hierarchy importing?

Thanks.

Regards,

Rojay

Hi,

As per the screenshots attached, It looks to me that you have loaded attributes and Hierarchy in backend NW by creating transformation and DTP on top of it. Please note that as per the best practice it is not advisable to modify /CPMB/ objects from NW backend.

As advised by Vadim, Please use standard way to load BPC master data attribute and then hierarchy.

You can refer the below link,

Hope this helps,

Looks like he is trying to combine "transformation and DTP" and standard hierarchy import... wrong way!

Thank you for your info first, I know what you mean. Since BPC dimension is also a BW  infoobject, I want to know why I can't try this.

In fact, This is my second approach in case of complex data format of InfoObject 0costcenter 's master ,text and hierarchy with compounding content.

Regards.

Hi Vadim,

No, firstly I loaded Attr, text to infoobject /CPMB/***  via TRFN and DTP, but I imported master&text from /CPMB/***  to UDD01(BPC dimension)in standard way(DM package), and it ran successfully (/CPMB/***<=====>UDD01).

I think you have my idea on this, can you please why I can't try this way?

Meanwhile, I have also tried to use standard way to import BPC master data&hierarchy from 0costcenter, but unfortunately, the error log couldn't show me the detailed info and wrong records.

Hi,

BPC doesnt work in this way.The BPC related content are system generated when you create Environment, Model and dimensions. The system automatically generate /CPMB/ *** objects in backend. In case you need to add hierarchy, modification of any structure you have to do it using BPC web client.

In case you have complex design scenario, you can do it at BW level by custom development and update a final Z* target of BW from where you can load data in a standard BPC data load process.

To automate the process you can create process chains to update the respective targets and trigger it from BPC front end.

Hope this helps,

"firstly I loaded Attr, text to infoobject /CPMB/***  via TRFN and DTP, " - don't do it!

"I have also tried to use standard way to import BPC master data&hierarchy from 0costcenter, but unfortunately, the error log couldn't show me the detailed info and wrong records." - sorry, looks like you are doing something wrong. Import of master data from 0costcenter is absolutely trivial process. Please try again!

"And Must I import corresponding Master& Text to BPC dimension from BW infoObject 0costcenter before hierarchy importing" - Yes!

Thanks for your quick response!

But I have uploaded Master& Text to BPC dimension by BW TRFN and DTP from Inofobject 0costcenter, so should I repeat what you mention ?

Please use standard procedure of master data upload and you will get correct results

Hi Vadim Kalinin,

When I tried to import Attr & Text as you mentioned, but following error happened in validating transformation file.

DELIMITER=TAB

What do you mean by ID mapping?

And provide more info in screenshots...

P.S. Show rejected list!

ID means Cost center member, and I also set ID=ID, it's still wrong.

Might be the struck with mapping,..

Provide Header bar(attributes) in BW infoobject and Dimension.

few lines sample data.

Hi Raviss,

The mapping is easy for 4 attributes, and the name is just copied.

Hi,

Until now, I imported master& Text from InfoObject(/CPMB/*) successfully, but when validating hierarchy transformation file, it failed with all records are rejected. I can't see the detailed log.

All info!!!!

Starting from all steps and configurations of master data load, then hierarchy load...

Or it's a waste of time...

Yes, Master data was imported successfully, but hierarchy wasn't. And the error of  transformation file validation log as above.

Thanks.

Looks like a waste of time

Without details it's not possible to help!

Details:

1. Master data in BW sample

2. Transformation file to import master data.

3. Conversion file to import master data

4. Selection screen to import master data

5. Log result of import

6. BPC dimension screen with imported base members and nodes

...

Same for hierarchy load!

Vadim,

Sorry for the confuse on you! I knew what you worry about, and you wanted more detailed info.I just want to say it is very easy!

I have imported master&Text by this transformation file, and log as follows:

but when validating the transformation file for hierarchy importing, it came up with error.

and the conversion file is also simple.

and hierarchy list sample in BW infoobject:

Do you want more information?

Thanks for your patience!

Ups, you are importing master data from another BPC dimension??? Absolutely strange idea...

Yes, Is there any problem on this? In fact, It's also a BW InfoObject, it has been uploaded attributes,Text and Hierarchy. As well, it will avoid some complex data formats. like compounding attributes.

The business logic is strange...

Anyway, the hierarchy in BPC dimension has to be named like PARENTH1...

Thanks for your quick response.

I don't think it is the key point, as what you mentioned change it to PARENTH1, it still doesn't work with all records are rejected.

Can you show the source dimension in BPC admin interface?

How you create this original dimension?

P.S. Try to test import for some standard dimension in the Environmentshelll...

Yup, I supposed to import from infoobject 0costcent, but with transformation file validation failed. Then I tried to use another infoobject instead. UDD01  is a BPC dimension.

If you try to import from standard dimension like ENTITY you will have:

There are some hierarchies there, that 's why use PARENTH14.

Sorry, but your actions are not consistent...

If you want to get master data and hierarchies from 0COSTCENTER then do it in the normal way!

1. Create new dimension in BPC

2. Import master data from 0COSTCENTER, ensure that everything is loaded correctly.

3. Import hierarchy from 0COSTCENTER.

It will work!
