Hi

We have installed a new BPC 10 system. When try to logon from excel using EPM add-in it throws error: Unable to contact the server. There was no endpoint listening at http://<server>:<port>/session?method=Get.

But we have a http port configured and able to login to admin client using the same port.

Also we tried the same string http://<server>:<port> in internet explorer it errors : Service cannot be reached.

we've activated all the services mentioned in the installation guide, is there any other service to be activated apart from below?

/sap/EPM_BPC

/poa

/sap/public/bc

/sap/bw/xml/soap/xmla/

Please advice.

Thanks

Hi Bobby,

  • Please make sure you have all the below set of software installed in your machine as a prerequisite for installing and working on BPC 10.
  1. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or 8.0
  2. Adobe Flash Player 10 Version or later
  3. Microsoft Web Services Enhancement 3.0  Ver.  .
  4. MS Office 2007 or 2010 (32 bit)
  5. NS .Net Framework NS .Net Framework 3.5 SP1
  6. MS XML Parser 6.0 SP1

  • If Models of that Environment contains secure dimensions then it will not be available in the model list when you are trying to connect with Excel interface in BPC 10.

Resolution:

  1. In BPC 10, if a dimension is secured you need to go to the

Admin tab> Security folder> Data Access Profiles tab.

  1. Click on a Model listed, Then you will see Access to Model: [Model name] on the right. When you secured the dimension, it automatically gave no access to it so there wasn't a security breach. You need to set the dimension you locked so that users can have read/write/R&W access.
  2. Go to the Team, Select team to whom you want to assign that Data Access Profile
  3. Click on Data Access Profile Add whatever data access profile you want to assign to that Team.

After doing this, admin user can access this model in Excel Add-in Model list

Hi Sonam,

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. We were able to get through the error by performing the steps mentioned in note 1632106.

How ever when I logon to Excel EPM and try for new connection to 'ENVIRONMENTSHELL' the button 'OK' is grayed out(after entering URL and userID and password) and there are no 'MODEL' available to select.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

I just realized that we have to set the model for the first time use but unfortunately I'm getting the error:

"model settings could not be saved" when I try to save from Admin client.

Also everything is error-ring up from admin client like: when I click on 'users' under security it throws error:"users could not be retrived".

When I double clicked on the error it shows, "Unhandled Error (HTTP Status:500): unmarshal.invalid.xml".

I followed the note:1693703 and tried to re-activate the environmentshell. After the re-activation (from ujs_activate_content) it shows the below warnings in the SM37 spool:

Audit table /1CPMB/A9V1JAD of model Consolidation does not exist

Audit archive table /1CPMB/A9V1JAD_A of model Consolidation does not exist

Comment table /1CPMB/A9V1JCMT of model Consolidation does not exist

Comment archive table /1CPMB/A9V1JCMTA of model Consolidation does not exist

InfoObject catalog /CPMB/ENVIRONMENTSHELL_CHAR is not available in version A

We are on SP07 on standard components and SP05 on CPMBPC and POASBC components.

Not sure what's gone wrong. could someone please suggest.

Thanks

Bobby,

did you try the URL instead of the server name? Also if you used the default port you don't need the port number ... http://[URL]/sap/bpc/web/?

Hi Akos,

Thanks for your reply. We are facing issues login from excel EPM add-in, we are OK login into web\admin client,.

Is there any additional step to be performed that was not mentioned in the BPC 10 NW installation guide?

Thanks,
