EPM - Difference between Save and Transfer Data?

Hi

In the Data Input section of the EPM (v10 SP26) add-in tab in Excel, there are buttons for Save and Transfer Data. Im wondering what the difference is between the two?

I have looked through the documentation and it suggests that Transfer Data will move data to the user buffer, whilst Save Data will save data to the database, although I may be interpreting this incorrectly.

May be worth noting that we are using a SAP BW (INA Provider) connection.

To my mind the help is clear... You can undo transfer to the last save.

Maybe your mind is a little more advanced than mine

So just to clarify...

Using transfer data will allow you to rollback changes to the point at which a save last occurred, whilst save data will permanently save any transferred or updated data to the database?
